DiliTrust Sign is DiliTrust's own native electronic signature solution — built and maintained by DiliTrust, fully embedded in the platform, and available to all clients by default. This article explains what DiliTrust Sign is, what it does, and how it differs from third-party signature providers.

✅ What is DiliTrust Sign?

DiliTrust Sign allows you to send, sign and track documents electronically without leaving DiliTrust — and without setting up any external account or third-party subscription.

It covers the full signing workflow: preparing the document, assigning signers, sending the request, tracking progress, and collecting the signed document — all within a single, unified experience.

⭐ Key features

  • Send a signing request — launch a signature directly from the document with Send or sign
  • Multiple signatories & signing order — add as many signatories as needed and choose whether they sign one after the other
  • Identification check — each signatory accesses the document through a secure email link (default), or via a one-time code by SMS
  • Carbon copy (CC) — add recipients who receive the document without being required to sign
  • Signature areas — position each signatory's signature area precisely on the document
  • Custom email message — set the language, subject and message of the notification your signatories receive
  • Flexible signature capture — signatories can generate a signature from their name, draw it, or upload an image
  • Reject a document — a signatory can decline instead of signing
  • Receivers overview — see all participants and their status at a glance (for example Pending signature or Receives copy)
  • Comments & notes — add a note that every receiver can read
  • Withdraw a workflow — the sender can cancel a signing workflow while it is still in progress
  • Certificate of Completion — a signature audit trail document is generated for the workflow

⚡ DiliTrust Sign vs third-party providers

DiliTrust also supports connections to external signature providers (DocuSign, Adobe Sign, YouSign, UniverSign and others) through the DiliTrust e-Signature hub. Here is how DiliTrust Sign compares:

☝ When to use DiliTrust Sign

DiliTrust Sign is the right choice when:

  • You need a quick, simple signing experience with no additional setup
  • Your documents require a Simple Electronic Signature (SES) — which covers the vast majority of everyday business documents (contracts, NDAs, HR documents, board resolutions…)
  • You want all document data to stay within the DiliTrust ecosystem
  • Your signers are external — they do not need a DiliTrust account to sign

Use a third-party provider instead when your use case requires Advanced (AES) or Qualified (QES) signatures — for example, high-value contracts, regulated industries, or documents with specific legal requirements.

⭐ Certification level: Simple Electronic Signature (SES)

DiliTrust Sign operates at the SES level as defined by the EU eIDAS regulation. SES is the most widely used signature level and is legally valid for the large majority of commercial documents.

At the end of each completed workflow, DiliTrust Sign automatically generates a Certificate of Completion — the legal proof of signature, containing signer identity, timestamps, identification method, IP addresses and document integrity hash.
